As people are looking forward to seeing a reliable alternative energy vehicles now when the climate issues are serious. It is necessary to focus on some types of alternative energies and develop them with much more efforts and investments.
For electric vehicles, someone has provided some ideas of the future of charging system. In Dr. Hubbard’s article, he introduces a new technology of charging system, which lets you “forget refilling” because “your car will do it itself,” and “it'll trundle off in the night while you sleep (2016, Hubbard).” Isn’t that amazing! And during the creating process, there’s a lot of questions and problems. Dr. Hubbard also mentioned his partner Dr. Nelson’s opinion:
“‘The big problem with renewable energy is: how do you store it? You’ve got to put it into a grid, and the grid may just let it dissipate because the demand isn’t there that day.’ Equally, solar panels aren’t much use after dark, and nor are wind turbines if you can’t leave them running. So why not pump that electricity directly into an electric car while it is available, and then drive it home to be redistributed when those renewable sources are offline. Recycled EV batteries could be used as static storage cells; Tesla’s Powerwall offers home energy storage, admittedly from solar cells (2016, Nelson).”
What’s more, as Mr. Paglee wrote in his blog:
“plugging in becomes an afterthought, but you save an hour or two each month. One attractive thing about driving a battery powered electric car is that you avoid wasting 10-15 minutes a week driving to the gas station to fill up at a fuel pump. (2014, Paglee)”
This is a major point he made in the blog and his idea was that electric car will save time from not going to gas stations.
So, after those issues and high prices have been solve, alternative energy vehicles will go on the stage and people can buy whatever they want as well as gasoline cars today.
